| The Alaska Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Got a Face lift in 2009 when Pro Golfers James Contreras and Kevin Koshimizu discovered that the Alaska Junior Tour was going to be no more. They realized what Junior Golf and a Junior Tour did for them in there younger years and decided to take over the AJGA and the Alaska Junior Tour. Soon after they recruited Frank Wilson another Professional Golfer and started the New AJGA and Alaska Junior Tour. The First year went well and James, Kevin and Frank made a decision to continue the Tour into the future. Since 2009 the Tour has made great progress, In 2010 with the help of Jeff Barnhardt Executive Director of the AGA, the AJGA merged into the Alaska Golf Association (AGA) to help promote the sport of Golf on a Bigger scale. The AJGA with the Help of Billy Bomar Executive Director Of the First Tee added more players to the tour through the First Tee program. Another Change that was made in 2010, was that the Tour would not only be limited to the valley and Anchorage area with tournaments in Fairbanks and Kenai and Soldotna. Now in our 3rd year we have grown from just 3 individuals running the tournament to adding Wendy Newell and Amanda Hodge to our volunteer staff.
